The Riverside-Brookfield Education Foundation hosts its annual telethon on RBTV (Channel 16) on Saturday, Oct. 23, from to   The fundraiser, which helps support educational opportunities for students and teachers, features live performances and guest hosts. It also features an array of premiums and a select group of auction items.


Today the foundation announced that it received as an auction item a pair of soccer “boots” signed by Chicago Fire and U.S. National Team player Brian McBride. The starting bid for the item in $500.


Other auction items include one of the painted panels that made up the mural at the Arcade Building in downtown Riverside (the panel depicts a fall scene, with colorful leaves, a park bench and one of the village’s signature street lamps); a dinner package for 10, including the services of a chef and waitstaff from Merced Artisinal Caterers; a “stained-glass” painted transom panel from the Arcade Building; a sapphire and diamond ring from Arcade Jewelers; and an Isabel Bloom yard statue donated by For the Birds in Brookfield.


Some of the premium items available for sale during the telethon include tickets to sports and theater events, the Brookfield Zoo and various museums and tourist attractions; restaurant gift cards; fitness classes, haircuts, food baskets and more. And, yes, also available are two 10-pound chocolate bars from Aunt Diana’s in
Riverside. Premiums run from $35 to $400, and items continue to come in.
