ROUNDUP
Kelsey Egger led the Riverside-Brookfield girls basketball team to a 54-48 victory last week.

Egger finished with a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds.

The win was the first for the Bulldogs (3-3, 1-1) in the Metro Suburban Conference this season.

Lions girls top Hinsdale Central

Lyons Township High School girls basketball head coach Katie Meyers earned her first West Suburban Conference-Silver win on Saturday. And it couldn’t come against a better opponent than rival Hinsdale Central.

Lindsay Esposito and Ashanti Davis scored 10 points each as the Lions earned a 44-34 win over the Red Devils. Colleen Connors turned in an excellent all-around floor game effort with nine points, four steals and three assists for LT.

The Lions took an early lead and never looked back en route to the victory. Hinsdale Central is adjusting to life without star Toni Kokenis, now playing at Stanford University.

“We played well and took a step in the right direction,” Meyers said. “I’m seeing progress, but there’s still a ton of work to do. We have a great deal respect for Hinsdale Central. They have a bright future, but I still want to beat them every time we play.”
