Gertrude A. Winchester, 94, a resident of Brookfield for four decades, died Dec. 21, 2010, at Emeritus Senior Living in Burr Ridge.
Ms. Winchester worked as an office manager for Spiegel in Chicago for 12 years until she left in 1946. She married Leonard W. Winchester, who preceded his wife in death on Nov. 15, 1994.
From 1955 to 1995, she lived in Brookfield before moving to LaGrange Park. She enjoyed reading and gardening.
Ms. Winchester is survived by her sons, Leonard (Nee-Yin Chou) Winchester and Lawrence (Dale) Winchester; and her grandchildren, Mae-Lan Winchester and Chia-Lin Winchester and August Belfiglio. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Olivia Belfiglio.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15, at the chapel of the Sisters of St. Joseph Motherhouse, 1515 W. Ogden Ave. in LaGrange Park., followed immediately by a funeral service there at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Forest Park.
