Former North Riverside resident Richard Stephen Konkols, 69, died Jan. 23, 2011.
Mr. Konkols was a veteran of the National Guard and worked for the Mazur and Son construction company. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Konkols (nee Tomcal); his children, Lori (Timothy) Woodcock and Julie (Adam) Kornak; his grandchildren, Stephen Woodcock, Matthew Woodcock, Abigail Woodcock, Ryan Kornak, Aidan Kornak and Amanda Kornak; his brother Ronald Konkolewski; and his mother-in-law, Anna Tomcal. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert (Judy) Konkolewski.
A funeral Mass was celebrated on Jan. 26 at Mater Christi Church in North Riverside. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
