Lawrence A. Nickla, 100, a longtime resident of Brookfield, died April 9, 2011, at LaGrange Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Nickla moved to Brookfield in 1952 and remained there for the rest of his life. For 45 years he worked for International Harvester, retiring in 1973 as supervisor of the company’s field testing lab. He was a member of the Harvester Retirees Club and enjoyed bowling.
Preceded in death by his wife, Helen M. Nickla of Dec. 29, 1996, Mr. Nickla is survived by his son, Larry H. Nickla.
A funeral Mass was held April 12 at St. Barbara Church in Brookfield, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
