The Des Plaines River has reached flood stage in Riverside and is expected to rise another four inches before cresting at about noon tomorrow, according to the National Weather Service.
The river hit flood stage at 10:45 a.m. Thursday. The National Weather Service has also issued a flood warning for the Des Plaines. The river is expected to crest at 7.4 feet, flooding park and forested areas near the Des Plaines.
The flooding is not expected to threaten any residential properties. Last September when areas near the river experienced serious flooding, the river crested at more than 9 feet.
