James Laddie Lorr, 67, of Vancouver, Wash., and formerly for Brookfield, died Jan. 23, 2011 at the V.A. Medical Center in Portland, Ore.

Mr. Lorr grew up in Brookfield, graduating from St. Barbara School in 1957. After graduating from St. Ignatius High School in 1961, he attended Northern Illinois University, receiving his bachelor’s degree in 1966.

He served in the U.S. Air Force throughout the Vietnam War, from 1967 to 1975, retiring from the service at the rank of captain.

Mr. Lorr was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Evelyn (nee Pechous) Lorr; his sisters, Nancy Lorr and Kathleen (the late James) O’Donnell.

He is survived by his brothers, Joel (Lynne) Lorr of Littleton, Colo., and Bryan (Catherine) Lorr of LaGrange Park; his sisters, Jeanine (Alan) Ledford, of Vancouver, Wash., Linda (Stanley) Andrys, of Brookfield, and Mary Ann (Michael) Feely, of Naperville; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., followed immediately by a memorial service, on Saturday, June 11 at Johnson Funeral Home, 3845-47 Prairie Ave. in Brookfield. Inurnment at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland was held in February.
