Community Nurse’s is celebrating 90 years of health care service to this west suburban area. Community Nurse cannot and does not provide its services alone.
This 90th anniversary celebration year is, in large part, a public “thank you” to the countless volunteers – primary and specialty care providers, shop volunteers, Secret Santa Elves, members of the Women’s Auxiliary and board members – who have dedicated so much of their time over the past 90 years to enable this great organization to provide quality healthcare services. We are most humbled by the spirit of generosity and volunteerism that has supported this organization for 90 years.
The need for the health care services provided by this organization has not diminished over the past nine decades. Health care access for the underserved and uninsured is an issue that has rightfully attracted national attention.
The often heated debate continues, but we should all be very proud of the fact that we live and work in a community that has never waited for a federal or state response to improve our community, but rather has successfully used local resources to improve health care access.
Community Nurse is proud to partner with so many physicians and dentists, Adventist LaGrange Memorial Hospital, Loyola Hospital, Community Memorial Foundation and our colleague nonprofit agencies to achieve the mission of enhancing the health of our community.
This spirit of collaboration continues to thrive at Community Nurse and it will enable us to respond to the needs of our community for years to come. Thank you to the community for helping us achieve our vision of a “healthy and productive community where all residents have access to quality health care.”
