The Holy Name Society at Mater Christi Parish in North Riverside marked its 60th anniversary in December and named its officers for 2012. Among those heading the organization this year will be David Tomalis, president; Gary Richied Jr., vice president-membership; Tony Santucci, vice president-social; Jim Orth, secretary; and Jason Rouleau, treasurer.
The club meets September to May on the second Friday of each month in Menarik Hall of the school and at the Holy Name Mass held the following Sunday. The Holy Name Society hosts a number of events each year, including a turkey shoot, corned beef dinner and golf outing. Proceeds raised from those events goes toward church improvements and other charitable organizations.
