The Bulldogs snapped a four-game losing streak with a 48-31 win over Fenton in Bensenville. After a sluggish first quarter by both teams, RB outscored the Bison 17-11 in the second quarter to build a 25-17 halftime lead. RB (11-6, 4-2 Metro Suburban Conference) claimed a 23-14 scoring edge in the third quarter en route to a relatively comfortable conference victory.
Brittney JnoBaptiste had a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Alleigh VandeMerkt scored six points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Kiley Rusen (9 points, 3 steals), Hannah Claywell (8 points, 3 rebounds), Elena Duve (9 rebounds, 6 steals) and Meghan Orgler (4 points, 6 rebounds) also contributed for the Bulldogs.
In another game last week, Latin defeated RB 52-44 at Hersey in the Fenton Tournament. Rusen scored 14 first-half points, but the Romans pulled away in the fourth quarter led by Bridget Cato (game-high 18 points). Duve scored eight points, Orgler had seven points and JnoBaptiste chipped in six points for RB.
