After a strong midseason surge, LT (8-12, 4-4 West Suburban Silver) has hit a mini slump dropping a pair of games over the weekend, 58-51 to Hinsdale South (Saturday) and 59-50 to York (Friday).
Visiting Hinsdale South seized a 32-15 halftime lead and held off a rally by the Lions, who were led by Kenny Smith with a team-high 14 points. Jarryd Heath and Chris O’Reilly scored 11 points apiece. Senior Matt Robare chipped in seven points, seven rebounds and five assists.
Heath and O’Reilly shared top scoring honors with 13 points apiece against York. Like Hinsdale South, the red-hot Dukes (who have won 12 games in a row) took an early 22-13 lead after one quarter and essentially matched LT offensively the rest of the way.
