Riverside-Brookfield took fourth place with a score of 73 at the loaded Class 2A Evergreen Park Regional on Saturday.
At 152, Junior Mark Schraidt (17-17) defeated Fenton’s Mike Datavs by a decision of 7-4 in the third place bout, while freshman Lou Grigoletti (6-9) recorded the Bulldogs’ other third place finish with a pin at 2:50 against Travis Layer of Lemont in the 285 division.
In a the Bulldogs’ other third-place matches, Junior Danny Russell (17-16) lost to Lemont’s Glen Malecki 21-8 and at 145 another RB junior Vinny Zaccagnini (18-12) dropped a 7-2 decision to Jimmy Brennan (Lemont). Schraidt and Grigoletti advance to the Lemont Section this weekend, while Zaccagnini and Russell enter the sectional as alternates.
