Gerald R. “Gerry” Cahill, 81, of Brookfield, died Jan. 30, 2012 at his home.
Mr. Cahill lived in Brookfield since 1954 and was involved in many ministries at St. Barbara Parish. For 35 years he worked as a supervisor at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, retiring in 1998. He was an avid fan of the Chicago White Sox, enjoyed watching the Chicago Bulls and Bears and also liked to travel.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta A. “Lorrie” Cahill (nee McCarthy). Mr. Cahill is survived by his sons, Phil (Michelle) and Dan (Kathy) Cahill; his daughters, Maura Weldzius, Jody (David) Kunzweiler and Laureen (Rick Sutherland) Cahill; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 4 at St. Barbara Church, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
