Putting up an electric welcome sign on a corner entrance to Riverside would never have been in a Vaux or Olmsted plan, even if it was available at the time. It is a horrid idea, totally not green – and Riverside is all about green.

Adding way-finding elements will be of great assistance to some of the new criminal element that have only been able to use the east side of Riverside’s easier access streets. Let’s be sure they know how to get to the rest of town.

And perhaps most importantly, now that that intersection is finally getting the safety feature it desperately needs – left turn arrows – let’s not gum it all up by adding signs to be read by oncoming traffic.
