Regina M. Buttimer (nee Griffin), 94, of Riverside, died Feb. 17, 2012.
Ms. Buttimer was born Dec. 2, 1917 and grew up on the South Side of Chicago in the Park Manor neighborhood.
She attended Aquinas Dominican High School and in 1946 married Cornelius J. Buttimer. The couple settled on the South Side near 81st Street and Kimbark Avenue and later moved to Burbank. Ms. Buttimer was very active at St. Mary Star of the Sea Parish as a member of their Altar and Rosary Society.
Regina and Neil Buttimer moved to Riverside in 1992. Mr. Buttimer preceded his wife in death in 1997.
Ms. Buttimer was the mother of Greg, Larry and Jerry (Janine) Buttimer; the grandmother of Paula, Tim, Andy, Alan, Kelsey, Keegan and Vincent; and the great-grandmother of six.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 21 at St. Mary Church in Riverside, followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
