Joanne Koszala (nee Cossa), 74, of North Riverside, died Feb. 28, 2012 at the British Home in Brookfield.
Ms. Koszala was very active as a parishioner at Mater Christi Church in North Riverside. She was past president of the church’s Women’s Guild and a proud member of the St. Vincent De Paul Society as well as a member of the church’s SPRED (Special Religious Development) group.
She was the wife of Eugene J. “Gene” Koszala; the mother of Sharon (Steven) Rodriguez, Kevin Koszala, Jonathan (Dawn) Koszala and Brian Koszala; the grandmother of Gianna Pollastrini, Nicholas Pollastrini, Margaret Koszala, Joseph Koszala and Anthony Koszala; the great-grandmother of Natalie; and the sister of John Cossa.
A funeral Mass was celebrated on March 5 at Mater Christi Church, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Memorial donations are appreciated to the National Parkinson’s Foundation or the SPRED Center of the Archdiocese of Chicago.
