Last week, we had a story that could very well have been the Platonic ideal of “community newspaper article” – fire department saves cat from tree.
Except that, well, the cat leaped away from the firefighter trying to reach her, fell about three stories from the branch it had been perched on for a week, plummeted through the arms of another firefighter and hit the ground with a thud … then ran off and disappeared from sight.
Quite frankly, we weren’t sure what the heck happened to the unfortunate cat.
But on Tuesday, we received an email from the woman who let us know about Becca the cat’s plight.
“Becca the cat was spotted today by one of our neighbors. They said she was dashing about chasing birds as usual.”
So, a happy ending after all.
