Joseph L. Schordje, 90, of Elgin and formerly of Brookfield, died May 8, 2012 at his home.
Born in Chicago on Oct. 12, 1921, Mr. Schordje served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Following the war, he worked as a business manager for the telephone company.
Mr. Schordje was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Schordje (nee Kulak); his parents, Joseph and Edith Schordje; 11 nieces and nephews and 18 great-nieces and nephews and many great-great nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held May 14 at Hitzeman Funeral Home, Brookfield, followed by interment at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines.
