Richard J. Tlusty, 78, of Brookfield died Sept. 13, 2012 at Palms of Pasadena Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Mr. Tlusty was born in Chicago on Aug. 4, 1934 to Joseph and Lillian Tlusty. He served in the U.S Army, worked as a printer for a publishing company and was a longtime member of the American Sokol.

He was the husband of Carole Tlusty (nee Polk) and the late Charlotte Tlusty (nee Fajfar); the father of Tim (Holly) Tlusty and Debbie (Shawn) Bingham; the stepfather of Jim (Lynn) Jarog, Philip (Diane) Jarog and Deborah (Thomas) Stawinoga; the grandfather of Tyler Tlusty, Dylan Tlusty, Ryan Bingham; Jennifer Jarog, Anna Marie Jarog, Brittany Jarog, Nycole Stawinoga and Gina Stawinoga; the brother of the late Richard Dykhuis; and the uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Thursday, Sept. 20 from 3 to 8 p.m. and on Friday, Sept. 21 from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at Hitzeman Funeral Home, 9445 31st St. in Brookfield. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Sept. 21 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Louise de Marillac Church in LaGrange Park, followed by interment at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Stickney.
