Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle has issued a disaster declaration for Cook County and Governor Quinn has issued a disaster declaration for the state as a result of the flooding that began April 18. Residents who experienced flooding should document in detail what occurred and photograph the damage. This information must be received by the Village by Friday, April 26 and will then be submitted as part of the application for a federal disaster declaration.
Residents who sandbagged their property should place used sandbags at the curb for collection by the department of public works once they are no longer needed.
