The second installment of Cook County property tax bills will be mailed in late June with an August 1 have a mid-summer due date.
The early due date may surprise taxpayers who have become accustomed to due dates that have been as late as December in recent years. State law mandates that second installment tax bills in Cook County be paid by August 1, and county taxing officials have been determined to comply with the state law. Taxpayers in Cook County should expect this payment schedule for the foreseeable future.
