Sophie Fracasso (nee Jurecki), 94, of Parker, Colo., and formerly of Brookfield, died March 30, 2013 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Colorado.

Ms. Fracasso was born June 18, 1918 in Winnepeg, Canada, where her family lived briefly while emigrating from Austria to the United States. She grew up in Chicago and married Peter A. Fracasso in 1940. The family moved to Brookfield in 1957.

She worked as a bank clerk for much of her life, initially at the Federal Reserve Bank in Chicago and then at the First National Bank of Brookfield for 30 years. She was among the first employees when the bank opened. She retired at the age of 82. In 2004, Ms. Fracasso moved to her daughter’s home in Parker, Colo.

Ms. Fracasso was preceded in death by her parents, Nick and Mary Jurecki; her husband, Peter A.; her son, N. Peter (Marilyn) Fracasso and her sister, Olga (the late Edward) Stermer.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Thomas) Lemke; her daughter-in-law, Marilyn Fracasso; her grandchildren, Wendy (Bruce) Morhardt, Victoria (Gary) Langosch, Nick (Lea Ann) Fracasso, Joseph Fracasso, Michael (Gaylen) Lemke and Sherry Lemke-Yow; her great-grandchildren, Gerald and Justin Langosch, Benjamin and Brandon Morhardt, N. Peter Fracasso, Thomas R. Lemke-Yow, Abigail and Ainslee Lemke; and many wonderful friends and family.

A celebration of Ms. Fracasso’s life will be held on Saturday, June 29 at the Epiphany Lutheran Church, 314 W. Vallette St. in Elmhurst at 1 p.m. Refreshments will be served after the memorial service.
