Melvin C. Richards Jr., 83, of Riverside, died Feb. 13, 2014.
Mr. Richards served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for many years as a stockbroker.
He was the husband of Nancy Richards (nee Buyer); the father of Juliana (Jeff) Tonkin, Paul (Karen) Richards, Michael (Mary) Richards and Timothy (Heather) Richards; the grandfather of Jennifer (Jay) Hesselschwardt, Ashley Tonkin, Adam Tonkin, Colin Richards, Amy Richards, William Richards, Ryan Richards, Ellie Richards, Erin Richards, Ian Richards, Jack Richards, Alec Richards and Anna Richards; the great-grandfather of Marjorie Hesselschwardt; and the brother of James (Dottie) Richards.
A funeral Mass was held Feb. 21 at St. Mary Church in Riverside, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
