Lester Allen Jaros, 89, a longtime resident of Brookfield, died April 26, 2014 in Conway, South Carolina.
Mr. Jaros was born in Chicago on June 30, 1924 and lived for many years on Prairie Avenue in Brookfield near Brookfield Zoo.
He worked as a machine mechanic for General Motors prior to retirement. Mr. Jaros enjoyed fishing, particularly at Myrtle Beach State Park for 28 years, and he also enjoyed gardening. He was a loving father, grandfather and husband.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Grace Jaros; his sons, David Jaros, of Ethridge, Tennessee, and Rodney (Sophie) Jaros, of Indianapolis; his grandchildren, Candace Davis, Tamara Jaros, Dawn Anderson and Christopher Jaros; his great-grandchild, Haden Anderson; and his niece, Sandra (Fischer) Sempowicz.
Mr. Jaros was preceded in death by his brother, Elmer Jaros, and his sister, Marjorie Fischer.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations are appreciated to a charity of choice.
