The Brookfield Police Department will host its annual Bike Rodeo on Saturday, May 23 from 9 to 11 a.m. in the parking lot of the Brookfield Village Hall, 8820 Brookfield Ave.

The event will feature free bike registration and inspections, a bicycle safety/ability course to test kids’ riding skills and T-shirt and prize giveaways. In addition, free bike helmets will be given to the first 100 kids and one lucky boy and girl will win a brand new bicycle.

Brookfield firefighters will be on hand to show off their trucks and answer questions and kids can also visit and have their photos taken with McGruff the Crime Dog and Safety Pup.

The event is sponsored by the Brookfield Police Department, Carl LaPonte’s State Farm Insurance, Loca Mocha Café, Elks Lodge 1510, Walmart – Hodgkins, Brookfield Kiwanis Club, Brookfield VFW Post 2868 and the Brookfield Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Association.
