Geraldine Jelinek Storcel, 83, of North Riverside, died at her home on May 31, 2015.

She was born in Libice, Czechoslovakia, on June 10, 1931 to Jaroslav and Marie Jelinek. She married John A Storcel on June 9, 1951.

A skillful businesswoman, Ms. Storcel with her husband founded a still-thriving electrical contracting firm in 1962. She was a longtime member of the Mater Christi Ladies Guild, the North Riverside Ladies’ Bowling League and a former officer of the Riverside Golf Club Ladies Nine-Hole Group.

Her other interests included needlework, photography, world travel and spending time with her grandchildren. She also loved her pets and was a strong animal-rights advocate.

Ms. Storcel was the mother of Marilyn (Joseph) Moore, Susan, Janet (Frank) Podczerwinski and Deborah (Scott) Korinek; the grandmother of Joseph (Stephanie) Moore, Megan (Chad) Ziller, Caroline Moore, Matthew (Korrin) Moore, Cecilia Podczerwinski, Scotty Korinek, Adam Korinek, Clare Podczerwinski, Mark Korinek and Mary Korinek; the great-grandmother of Garrett Ziller, Colton Ziller and Baby Girl Ziller, Zane Moore and Kaylee Moore; the sister of the late Jaroslav Jelinek, Edward Jelinek, Jerry Jelinek, Mary Schwarz, Ann Nedvedik and Olga Jelinek ; and an aunt to many nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 3 from 3 to 9 p.m. at Conboy-Westchester Funeral Home, 10501 W. Cermak Road in Westchester. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 4 at 10 a.m. at Mater Christi Church, 2431 10th Ave. in North Riverside, followed by entombment in the family mausoleum at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
