The North Riverside Police Department will be conducting safety/sobriety checkpoints on Friday, July 24 and Saturday, July 25 between the hours of 8 p.m. and 2 a.m.

The checkpoints, located within the corporate limits of North Riverside, are areas consistently shown to be high-traffic areas for previous arrests of impaired drivers. The checkpoints will focus on identifying alcohol and drug-impaired drivers before they get involved in a collision.

The campaign is being funded through a grant from the Illinois Department of Transportation.
