JoAnn Immekus (nee Mitchell), 78, of Riverside, died Nov. 15, 2015.
Ms. Immekus was born Feb. 6, 1937. She worked as a medical transcriptionist at Loyola University Medical Center for 25 years. She loved to travel the world, and spent much of her life devoted to her children and grandchildren.
She was the wife of the late Charles E. Bates and John E. Immekus; the mother of Mark (Debbie) Bates, J.J. Bates, Jeff (Jean) Bates, Jen (the late Kevin) Reynolds, Paul (Kimberly) Bates, Julie Bates and Joe Bates; and the grandmother of Matt Bates, Peter (Diana) Bates, Jessica Bates, Nathan Bates, Luke Bates, Collette (Matt) Jurek, Katelyn Reynolds and Cory Reynolds.
Visitation is on Wednesday, Nov. 18 from 3 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday, Nov. 19 from 9 to 9:30 a.m. at Hitzeman Funeral Home, 9447 31st St. in Brookfield. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, Nov. 19 at 10 a.m. at St. Louise de Marillac Church in LaGrange Park, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
