Fifth-graders from Riverside’s Central Elementary School’s Girl Scout Troop 51401 recently completed their Bronze Project, selecting homeless animals as their “cause” as part of this community serviced-based Girl Scout award. On Feb. 6, the girls partnered with the Oak Park Animal Care League and the Riverside Public Library to help library patrons make “do it yourself” pet toys as part of the library’s Furry Open House, which highlighted opportunities for animal adoption. The Girl Scouts took the opportunity to give the Animal Care League more than 35 pet toys.
