Bernice Sysko (nee Koldras), 98, of Brookfield and formerly of Lyons, died March 10, 2016.
Ms. Sysko worked at Continental Can Company in Chicago for more than 30 years and was active with her fellow seniors at the Center on Aging in LaGrange.
She was the wife of the late Casimir Sysko; the mother of Brother Jerome Sysko O.S.A. and Janet Lucas (John M Puskar III); the grandmother of Tom (Rene) Michelic and Steve (Jill) Michelic; the great-grandmother of Casey, Carly and Andrew; the sister of Charlotte (late Anthony) Kopec, Edwin (late Pamela) Koldras, late Rose (Stanley) Stock, late Sally (Clarence) Stezowski, late Stanley Koldras and the late Albina (Edward) Bafia,; the sister-in-law of Monika (late Edward) Malinowski of Bialystok, Poland, the late Mary (Paul) Baczewski and the late Anthony (Karolina) Sysko; the devoted friend of Aldona Jaworska, Rose Fiedor and Brother Angelo Sturn O.S.A. and many close relatives and friends.
A funeral Mass was celebrated March 14 at St. Barbara Church in Brookfield, followed by interment at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice.
Memorial donations are appreciated to the Augustinian Retirement Fund or the Center on Aging in LaGrange.
