Gerald J. Roe, 84, of Brookfield, died April 11, 2016 at Journey Care in Barrington.
Mr. Roe was born on Nov. 8, 1931 and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1946 to 1948 and worked for 16 years as a bus driver for the Pace bus service of the Regional Transportation Authority, retiring in 1995.
He was an avid fan of the Chicago White Sox, the Chicago Bears, Notre Dame football and the Kentucky Derby.
Mr. Roe, known as Head of the Roe 8, was the husband of Janice M. Roe (nee Hall); the father of David (Ruthanne) Roussel, Jean Spencer, Mark (Sarah) Hall, Charters (Eve) Roe, Heather Ruth (Greg) Woods, Ellasan Roe, Edward Reynolds Roe III and Gerald J. Roe Jr.; the grandfather of Charles D. Hall, Caitlyn Mae Roe, Rose Woods, Leo Woods and Alma Woods; the son of Edward Reynolds Roe and Mae Desmond; the brother of Mary Lafferty, Edward Desmond Roe, Daniel Roe and Raymond Roe; and the uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Services have been held. Interment was at Millburn Cemetery in Wadsworth.
