James William Chapman, 55, died on October 7, 2016.
Born on Nov. 16, 1960 to the late Vernon and Helen (Ackerman) Chapman, he grew up in Brookfield and attended Riverside-Brookfield High School where he played varsity ice hockey.
Mr. Chapman was a skilled tradesman who worked as a plumber and a private contractor. He enjoyed working on cars, fishing and sports, especially hockey and baseball. His favorite teams were the Chicago Blackhawks and the White Sox.
He is survived by his children, Joseph (Wendy), Jimmy (Cari), Corey (Andrea), Erika, Emily and Valerie; his grandchildren, Christopher, Adrianna and Haley; his siblings, Cathy and Don (Debra); his former spouses, Mary Beth, Cathy and Patty; and his many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Gerry.
Visitation is on Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 3 p.m. until a 7:30 p.m. service at Hitzeman Funeral Home, 9445 West 31st St. in Brookfield. Interment is private at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace.
