Joseph “Joe” George Csech, 88, died at his North Riverside home in the company of his family on Monday, April 24, 2017.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was an avid bowler and sports enthusiast who was thrilled to witness his Cubs become World Series champions in 2016.
He is survived by his children, veteran Mark, Diane (Hester), Brian, Paul and Donna (Chapman); 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his second wife of 31 years, Carol Ann (nee Avino) and her three daughters and three grandchildren; his veteran twin brother Paul (Ruth); many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Mr. Csech was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Jean (nee Amundson); his sons, Kurt and Scott; his daughter, Debbie (Plummer); his brother and WWII Purple Heart recipient, Edward; his sister, Mildred (Petersen); his parents, Paul and Pauline; and his canine companion, Toby.
He was a beloved and dedicated husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend to many. Joe will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
Services have bene held. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of memorials, Mr. Csech has asked everyone to raise a Heineken and root for the Cubs in his honor.
