Riverside is a beautiful town with a diversity of residents. We have men, women and children. We have white, black and brown. We have Christians, Jews and Muslims. We have gay, straight and transgender.
For the most part, Riverside downplays this diversity. And that is a real shame. We are a better town because of this diversity and our children grow to be better people, too.
The gay pride banner that has been displayed in Guthrie Park this week celebrates that diversity. My whole family is so pleased that this banner shows Riverside supports all walks of life.
