Margaret S. Polak (nee Zelnick), 95, of Brookfield, died on Aug. 20, 2017. Born on July 27, 1922, she was a longtime secretary and served as the village clerk of Brookfield. She was also a dedicated member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ.
Margaret was the wife of the late Robert E. Polak; the mother of Susan E. (Greg Elgin) Hinz and Kathy L. (Howard J. “Jack”) Timms; the grandmother of Erik Foster-Hinz, Tamara Wilson and Lindsay (Kurt) Hografe; the great-grandmother of Troy Foster and Jake Foster; the sister of David (Helen) Zelnick, the late George (the late May) Zelnick, Charles (the late Esther) Zelnick, Edward (the late Evelyn) Zelnick, Richard (the late Dorthea) Zelnick and Alice (the late Ted) Radjeski.
A memorial gathering is planned for Saturday, Sept. 9 at 9 a.m. until time of service, 10 a.m., at Hitzeman Funeral Home Ltd., 9445 W. 31st St. in Brookfield, followed by private interment.
