The Brookfield Public Library and the Friends of the Library will host their 11th Annual Taste of Brookfield @ Your Library fundraiser on Friday, Sept. 15 at the library, 3609 Grand Blvd. from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

The fundraiser, whose proceeds benefit the Friends of the Brookfield Public Library, incorporates fine food and drink, live music, a silent auction and a special $500 raffle. Featured local restaurants this year include the Brookfield Ale House, Fiesta Margarita and Tony’s Mexican Grill, and music will be provided by the Spats Studebaker Trio.

Silent auction items include gift baskets, sports tickets and other experiences. Pre-bidding for popular items began online on Sept. 1 at The highest online bid will be the starting bid at the Taste’s silent auction on Sept. 15. Online and onsite bidding will continue throughout the event itself.

In order to have a shot at winning the special $500, you’ll have to be present at the Taste. You can buy raffle tickets during the event itself, but if you purchase your Taste of Brookfield tickets on Sept. 11, you’ll receive five free raffle tickets for the special drawing.

There will be other raffles throughout the event in addition to the special $500 drawing.

You can buy tickets in advance ($40 each or two for $75) for the Taste at the library’s checkout desk, at Brookfield Farmers Market (Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the village hall, 8820 Brookfield Ave.) or online at

Tickets at the door are $45 each.

Child care is available for kids 12 and younger at a cost of $5 per child. Advance registration is required for child care.
