No one was seriously injured in a rollover crash involving two vehicles at the intersection of 26th Street and Westover Avenue on Feb. 18 at 7:20 p.m., North Riverside police reported.
According to police, the light was green for traffic on 26th Street at the time of the crash. A Chevy van driven by a woman was westbound on 26th Street and was waiting for eastbound traffic to clear before making a left turn onto Westover Avenue.
An eastbound vehicle in the inside lane reportedly stopped at Westover Avenue, even though the light was green, and flashed the car’s lights to let the woman make the left hand turn in front of the vehicle.
However, a white Honda that was traveling eastbound in the curb lane did not stop and struck the van as it was making the turn, flipping the Chevy van onto the driver’s side. No one in the Honda was injured, police said. The driver of the van was treated by paramedics at the scene but was not hospitalized.
Information on the drivers involved in the incident or whether any traffic citations were issued was not immediately available.
