Marianne Petersen

Marianne Petersen (nee Bondas) a 70-year resident of Riverside, died at the age of 100 on Sept. 14, 2019 while in hospice care at Hinsdale Hospital. 

Born in Chicago on April 30, 1919, she attended Chicago Public Schools. Prior to marriage, Marianne worked at Carson Pirie Scott, the Chicago Bar Association, Schwimmer and Scott advertising agency and the Borg Warner Corporation. 

In the late 1960s, she worked at an Eaton Yale and Towne sales office then located in Riverside’s Arcade Building. Ms. Petersen was an avid bridge player, golfer and bowler. 

She golfed well into her 70s, participating in ladies leagues at the Oak Brook Golf Club and the now defunct Timber Trails Golf Course. She was able to bowl into her early 80s, participating in a ladies league originally at Rolling Lanes in Countryside and later at the now defunct Willowbrook Lanes in Willowbrook.  

Ms. Petersen is survived by her son, Lawrence.
