Brian Michael Gill, 34, of Riverside, died on April 22, 2020, one day shy of his 35th birthday.

Mr. Gill was a lover of music, specifically 90s grunge bands, fishing, the White Sox (Good Guys Wear Black), awful television, the South Side of Chicago (specifically its pizza), giving generous gifts (to both those he knew and even those he didn’t), Weber’s Bakery and his many friends and family.

Most importantly, however, Brian loved the time he was able to spend with his son, Patrick. They loved to feed the goats and giraffes at the zoo as well as play baseball outside.

Brian loved his experiences as a high school wrestler, football and baseball player at Fenwick High School and was looking forward to teaching Patrick everything he knew. Patrick and Brian were the best of pals. Brian will be missed for his kind heart, quick wit, stunning blue eyes and that smile of his.

He is survived by his greatest joy, his son Patrick; his parents, Ted and Debbie Gill; his sister, Laura; and Patrick’s mother, Jill Koning, whom he fondly referred to as his “baby mama.”

Brian was preceded in death by his Grandma Val, with whom he had always had a special bond, as well his Grandpas Ted and Bob and Grandma Ginny.

A private funeral service was held for family members. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Ivins/Moravecek Funeral Home, Riverside, handled arrangements.
