Jim and I wanted to somehow thank everyone for their love, support, and positivity, but we didn’t know how we could do so on such a large scale. When Bob Uphues called and said he wanted to share our story, that gave us the answer.

The night the GoFundMe to assist us went public, we honestly did not know what to expect. As the night progressed, we could not believe what was happening. Mere words cannot express how astounded we were (and still are). My daughter in Minnesota was in tears all night, as were we. “Thank you” just doesn’t seem to say it all.

Since that first night, I’ve been looking back on my life and I can honestly say that I never knew I had such an impact on others. I’ve gone through my life just doing what I love to do, enjoying my passions, helping others, and just trying to be a good person. You have all shown me that I made some kind of mark on this world. I am so completely humbled.

So, to every family member, every friend, every acquaintance, every customer past and present, every cheerleader through 37 years of coaching, every cheer family, every cheer friend, every former Riverside-Brookfield co-worker, every fellow business person, every stranger, every anonymous person and Richard A. (whom I haven’t seen in 48 years), Jim and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

For every donation, every greeting card, every Facebook message, every gift card, every meal, every text, every phone call, every prayer and every bit of positive energy, again, we thank you.

And so, to thank all of you, I promise to fight ever harder each day, month, and year. It’s onward and upward!

With tons of love,

Chris Borzym and Jim Deacon
