Lyons Township High School football coach Jon Beutjer confirmed to the Landmark on Friday evening that the Lions’ game April 10 at Glenbard West has been canceled due to a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the Hilltoppers’ program.
“We were in a Zoom session this afternoon when we got word,” said Beutjer. “I’m disappointed for both programs.”
It is the second game the Lions have had scrubbed due to COVID-19. The Lions were in quarantine during Week 1 and had to cancel its contest that week.
Beutjer hopes LTHS will be able to find a last-minute replacement opponent.
“Our kids have been resilient, and we’re hoping they can play tomorrow,” he said.
If the Lions (1-1) are unable to play this weekend, their next game will be April 16 at home against Downers Grove North.
