Patricia Lavorato

Patricia “Pat” Lavorato (nee Walsh), 84, a longtime resident of Riverside, died Oct. 20, 2022. 

Ms. Lavorato was born Dec. 21, 1937. She worked as an event specialist for over 40 years at the Brookfield Zoo and was a well-recognized face to the visitors and employees at the zoo. She loved and adored her grandchildren, and she enjoyed playing cards with friends every week, especially poker.

She was the wife of the late Sam Lavorato; the mother of Michael (Holly) Lavorato and Mary DeGroot; the proud and best “Nonnie” of Talia and Maura DeGroot and Gianna Lavorato; the daughter of Francis and Louise (nee Gryrzowski) Walsh; the sister of Peggy (the late Frank) Crement, Pam (the late Gary) Tindall and Frank (Paula) Walsh; the daughter in-law of the late Sam A. Sr. (late Mary) Lavorato; the sister in-law of the late Erma (late Irv) Kieback; Barbara (Larry) Seaman and John (Mary Kaye) Lavorato; and an aunt to many nieces and nephews

Family and friends will be received at the Conboy-Westchester Funeral Home 10501 W. Cermak Road (2 blocks west of Mannheim Road), Westchester on Friday, Oct. 28 from 3 to 8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Oct. 29 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Cletus Church. Interment is at All Saints Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers donations to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospitals (stjude.org) are appreciated.
