Everyone’s favorite zoo invites you to come alive and celebrate the Day of the Dead this Saturday and Sunday! This zoo-wide event will be chock-full on Día de los Muertos traditions and music. Some traditions include face-painting, sugar skulls, coloring sheets, and photo opportunities with catrinas. Bring your family and celebrate this blessed holiday! Brookfield Zoo, 8400 31st St.


Bats & Other Misunderstood Creatures Show 

Friday, Oct. 27, 5 p.m.-6 p.m. 

Come to the public library to learn about misunderstood creatures like bats, snakes, skunks, and more! These misunderstood creatures would love to be admired and loved by any who accept them. All ages are welcome and children 10 years and under must attend with an adult. There’s no need to fear, the bats won’t turn you into a vampire even though we have entered Halloween season. Paint Party!

Thursday, Oct. 26, 6 p.m.-9 p.m.

RAD Holiday Workshop is coming to Pub 78 this Thursday! Join your favorite pub in conducting an event of creativity, paints, and crafts! The choice is yours to pick what crafts you and your family or friends would like to complete. You can choose to decorate an 8 x 10 glass mosaic with tissue paper ($30), wine bottles with lights (2 for $30), 2 or 3 mason jars ($30), 16 x 20 canvas sugar skull ($30), and more. Riverside Township Radio Players Halloween Show

The Radio Players are back for their annual Halloween show this Friday! You do not want to miss this spooky show that will include three different shows all in one that’ll really put everyone in the spooky Halloween mood! Two of the programs will be from Lights Out: “The Dark’’ and “Ghost Party” and the last one will be a 5-minute mystery called “Best Laid Plans.” The performance will start at 7:30 p.m., so make sure you are seated and ready to watch in the Auditorium. Bouncy Bat Family FUN

Gather the family and come on over to the Bottle & Bottega for a fun family painting event! Put all your artistic skills to the test as you try to paint and perfect the picture above. Painting and instruction time starts at 11:30 a.m. and ends at 12:30 p.m. when dry time and pictures start. Bottle & Bottega has wine glasses, wine openers, plastic ware, paper plates, napkins and ice, but you are welcome to bring any food and drinks you desire. You didn’t hear this from me, but if you arrive 30 minutes before instruction time, you will be able to custom make a DIY soy candle that’ll spice up any room!
