Denise Polerecky

Denise Ann Marie Polerecky (née McEnerney), 78, of Westchester, formerly of Brookfield, Cicero and Chicago, died at her home on April 24, 2025. Denise graduated from St Mary High School in 1965, attended Morton College, and was a longtime employee of Mid America Bank.

She loved to travel and experience new places. If there was an outdoor concert nearby, she would be there. She was very active with her Mid-America as well as her Weight Watchers friends, and was a huge animal lover, quick to pass out dog treats to all of her “fur neighbors” as they walked by her house. She was also very involved with the American Legion, Post #256. Her true pride and joy were “her guys” at the police station and fire department. She volunteered for multiple organizations within the local PD, but her favorites were by far the Shop with a Cop and Cop on a Rooftop programs.

Denise was the wife of the late Lud Polerecky and the daughter of the late Anna and Denis McEnerney. She is survived by her sister, Mary McEnerney and longtime partner Greg Macola; her late husband’s sons, Michael (Connie) Polerecky and Joseph (Mary) Polerecky; her step-granddaughter, Nicole Beauchamp; her great-granddaughter, Sophie Beauchamp; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 22 at Johnson-Nosek Funeral Home, 3847 Prairie Ave., Brookfield. The family will greet relatives and friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at noon, followed by private inurnment at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Hillside.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Denise’s name to one of her many favorite organizations: The Westchester Community Events Foundation within the Westchester Police Department (Shop with a Cop), 10300 W.
