John P. Kritzer, 94, of Brookfield, died on Feb. 12, 2026. A Korean War Army Veteran, he was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local # 73 (Hillside), Paralyzed Veteran of America Vaughan Chapter (Westchester), 1st Cavalry Division Association (Copperas Cove, TX), VFW Post 2868 (Brookfield), Kettle Moraine Chapter of Southeastern Wisconsin (Waterford), Croatian Cultural Club (Joliet), Linda Sokol Francis Brookfield Library sponsor (Brookfield), Brookfield Jazz Society (Brookfield) and the Museum of Science and Industry (Chicago).
John was the husband of the late Dolores J. Kritzer (nee Jonvonich); the father of Marc Kritzer and Nicholas Kritzer; the brother of Emil (Nancy) Kritzer, Annie (the late Wayne) Kwiatkowski and the late Gloria (the late Paul) Spolar; and the uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Feb. 18 from 3 to 8 p.m. and Feb. 19 from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. at Hitzeman Funeral Home Ltd., 9445 31st St., Brookfield. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at St. Barbara Catholic Church, Brookfield. Interment at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Justice.
