Betty Paisker

Betty Lou Paisker (nee Fern), 95, a longtime Brookfield resident, died on April 3, 2026. Born on Oct. 28, 1931, in Chicago, she was baptized at St. Andrew Lutheran Church on Nov. 29, 1931. From her earliest days, Betty’s life was firmly rooted in faith, family, and love for others.

She attended Luther North High School, graduating in 1950. It was not long thereafter that she met a handsome World War II veteran and the love of her life, Bohumil “Bob” F. Paisker. The two were married in 1954 and shared a deep and devoted partnership for 67 years, marked by loyalty, fondness, and steadfast companionship, until they were separated by death in 2021.

After building their home in Brookfield in 1961, she became a devoted member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brookfield, where she was an active participant in the Altar Guild, Bible classes, and choir.

Motherhood became one of her greatest joys. She enrolled her son Scott at St. Paul’s Lutheran School, where she faithfully supported every school event and operetta — often sewing many of the costumes by hand.

In 1978, they purchased their family home in La Grange Park, where she lived the remainder of her life.

She worked during her early years of marriage for Exxon Mobil and later served as an executive assistant at Marsh & McLennan. She was known for her strong work ethic, professionalism, reliability, and quiet competence.

Upon her retirement, she cared for her four grandchildren and the tradition continued with her grandchildren attending St. Paul’s where she volunteered reading to the kindergarten and first-grade classes.

She leaves behind a legacy of devotion, faith, compassion, and unconditional love.

Betty was the wife of the late Bohumil F. Paisker; the mother of Scott (Jessica) Paisker; the grandmother of Zachary (Sofia) Paisker, Lauren (Alec) Muscarello, Hailey Paisker and Max Paisker; sister of the late Arlene (the late Richard) Scully; and aunt of Tiffany (Kyle) Kinder, Michael Paisker and Brian Paisker.

A visitation was held on April 13 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brookfield, interment at Bethania Cemetery, Justice.
