Catherine L. “Carol” Hernandez, 82 of Naperville, formerly of Brookfield, died on Aug. 5, 2026 at Edwards Hospital in Naperville. Born on June 28, 1944 in Oak Park, she work as a secretary at Lyons Township High School before retiring.
Carol was the daughter of the late Louis Sr. and the late Lucille (nee Martinez) Hernandez; the sister of Marge (late Norbert) Murray, Vicki Suddreth, Bob (Maureen) Hernandez, Art (Jackie) Hernandez, Nancy (Dave) LaFrancis and Debbie (Mike) Matozzi and the late Mary Franson, Louis (late Patricia) Hernandez, Bette Mersereau, Tom (late Myra) Hernandez, Lucille (late Larry) Stewart, John “Hondo” Hernandez, Susan (Dean) Pederson and Frank (Maureen) Hernandez; and the aunt, great-aunt and friend to many.
Visitation was held on Aug. 11, followed by a funeral Mass at St. Barbara Church, 4000 Prairie Ave., Brookfield. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
Arrangements were handled by Johnson-Nosek Funeral Home, Brookfield.
