Two House bills unconstitutional

Two bills have recently passed the House of Representatives that have no basis in the Constitution of the United States of America and will, if enacted by the Senate, change our free American lives forever unless they are stopped.

These bills are cap and trade and the healthcare reform bill. Cap and trade had 300 pages added to it at 3 a.m. with provisions that allow the government to seize property, search premises and, yes, haul you out of your own house if it is determined you and/or your house are not in compliance with what is considered  “green.”

The health care bill is not about health at all. It is about taxation and control and entitlements that go on as far as the eye can see. And for the first time in American history the government is forcing us to buy something just for being an American citizen and if we don’t we will go to jail.

Therefore, both bills will give absolutely unlimited power to the government, skyrocket our debt and create a huge bureaucracy which will end freedom to choose anything.

These bills will be the icing on the cake of the “fundamental change” sought by those who think our free society should be anything but. Tyranny has existed forever. Our Constitution of the United States of America is the longest living document ensuring freedom and liberty. Don’t let tyranny reign.

See the propaganda for what it is: to confuse us and isolate us and divide us. Come together as Americans to keep our freedoms. The Constitution is a short read. Hold our elected officials to it.

Every year a provision is voted on in Congress that all bills be referenced to the Constitution and every year they vote, “No!” Men and women have died and are dying this day for that very document and we don’t stand for it? Then we will fall for anything and these two bills prove it.

Don’t be afraid to talk to your neighbor for we are but one people united in the beauty that is American freedom. Be united as constitutionalists and demand it becomes our cornerstone once again.

Thanks for the memories, Melody Mill

Wow, nice article. (“Remembering the moonlight: Fifty years of memories at North Riverside’s ballroom,” News, Oct. 21)

I grew up with grandson William Lejcar. We were best friends from grad school all the way through high school and many years after.

I spent many, many hours playing as a child in the Mill, and worked for the Lejcars in my teenage years. When I joined the North Riverside Police Department in 1967, I patrolled the Mill and stopped by many times to see that all was OK.

It was one of the best places. I remember; many, many good times there. The Lejcar family – from Gramps (Lejcar Sr.) to all of the sons, grandson and granddaughters – have a very special place in my heart.

What a great place, and what a great family.
