Kenneth L. Gabel Sr., 91, a former longtime resident of Brookfield, died July 8, 2011 in Houston.
Mr. Gabel served in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked for 35 years at the Western Electric cable plant in Cicero. He was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Gabel, and is survived by his children, Robert K. (Kathleen) Gabel, Richard J. (Patricia) Gabel, Kenneth L. (Catherine) Gabel Jr. and James M. (Claudia) Gabel; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were private. Interment was at Woodlawn Cemetery in Forest Park.
