Sean T. Short, 66, of Brookfield, died on July 30, 2024. Born in Chicago, he was raised in Cicero along with his eight siblings. He met the love of his life, Candy, when they were in their teens, and they celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary this past March.
Throughout his life, he enjoyed sharing his love of the great outdoors, music, art, and history with his loved ones. He was a proud union carpenter and member of Local 54. Always striving for new and different ways to live a holistic lifestyle, he completed a marathon, as well as two triathlons with his children, Kaitlan and Connor at his side. His greatest passion was playing, singing, and listening to the blues. He was known locally as Hollywood Slim, blues guitarist.
Sean was the husband of Candace Short (nee Curran); the father of Kaitlan (Terrance) Jones and Connor (Jacqlyn) Short; the grandfather of Kennedy Jones, Ewan Short and Kiara Jones; the brother of Kathleen (Steve) Dieter, Timothy (Fran) Short, Patrick (Christine) Short, Kevin Short, Brian (Joyce) Short, Maureen (Terry) Bohan, Megan (Thomas) Chlada and Denis Short; the son-in-law of Joan Curran; and the brother-in-law, uncle and great uncle of many.
Visitation was held on Aug. 4 at Hitzeman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 9445 31st Street in Brookfield. Followed by private interment.
